Deputy Principal Academics

Welcome to The Mawego National Polytechnic. The office of the Deputy Principal Academics plays a pivotal role in underpinning the academic journey of every trainee in the institution. The office is in charge of curriculum implementation, supervision and Evaluation. This is basically achieved through implementation of the Academic Policy. Training is done in line with the Quality Management System (QMS) and the ISO Standards.

The institution has embraced Competence Based Education and Training; a training that focuses on the acquisition of skills and abilities rather than solely on knowledge, ensuring trainees are equipped to perform to industry standards. The Mawego National Polytechnic is well equipped with competent trainers who are well versed with the demands of education and industry. The trainers at the Polytechnic are passionate about nurturing talent, inspiring innovation, andgui ding trainees to reach their fullest potential. Our trainers are spread across the following academic departments: Mechanical & Automotive Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Building & Civil Engineering, Health Sciences, Applied Sciences, Agriculture & Environmental Studies, Hospitality & Institutional Management, Computing & informatics, Business Studies & Entrepreneurship and finally Liberal Studies.

with relevant stakeholders who inform of gaps in the curricula. As a National Polytechnic and a Qualification Awarding Institution (QAI) we have the legal mandate to award national qualifications that are recognized. The institution has also made strides in Recognition of Prior
Learning (RPL) where we assess and validate skills and knowledge an individual has gained through formal, informal, and non-formal learning experiences leading to formal qualifications or certifications.
