I am proud to share the remarkable progress and growth of the Health Sciences Department at Mawego National Polytechnic. As a newly established department, we have quickly emerged as a leading center for health sciences education, attracting students from across Kenya who are eager to pursue careers in the healthcare sector.
Our department offers a diverse range of programs designed to equip students with the knowledge and practical skills required to excel in the dynamic and essential field of health sciences. Currently, we offer: Nutrition and Dietetics, Pharmaceutical Technology, Community Health, Health Records and IT, and Medical Laboratory Technology. Each program is meticulously designed to meet industry standards and address the evolving healthcare needs of our society.
To ensure we give the best, we incorporate dual training through weekly practicums in reputable institutions/hospitals. We have established working partnerships and MOUs to enable this. Additionally, we are also registered and licensed by Kenya Nutritionists and Dieticians Institute (KNDI), Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB), and Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB).
Our short courses, also designed to meet the changing needs of health professionals, include; HIV Testing Services (HTS), First Aid, Phlebotomy, and Certified Nurse Assistants (CNA).
